2026 Nashville Poet Laureate Semifinals

Join Southern Word for the selection of the 2026 Nashville Youth Poet Laureate finalists on November 20 at 4:00pm in the Stratford STEM Magnet School Writers’ Room.

The Nashville Youth Poet Laureate program aims to celebrate youth across Nashville at the intersection of artistic excellence and civic engagement. The semifinal round conducted in partnership with the Nashville Public Library’s Studio NPL determines the three finalists who will vie for the title of Nashville Youth Poet Laureate at State of the Word. The Nashville Youth Poet Laureate is a joint program of the Office of the Mayor, Nashville Public Library, Nashville Public Library Foundation, Metro Human Relations Commission, Urban Word, and Southern Word.
