DESCRIPTION:ABOUT LIVE BEATS LAB: MUSIC AND BEAT PRODUCTION\nLive Beats Lab is a chance for adult musicians and producers to develop their ability to integrate live instrumentation with digital audio workstations and contemporary music production techniques. Using Soundtrap\, a free browser-based DAW that works on any device with no downloads required\, participants will learn the fundamentals of beat-making\, including drum programming\, sampling\, arranging\, and mixing\, while exploring how the creative process can support personal growth and restoration. The Nashville Public Library and Southern Word welcome a range of musicians\, from beginners exploring computer-based music production for the first time to seasoned producers seeking new inspiration or ways to expand their skills. Participants may bring their own musical equipment or use provided technology. Each session offers a complete experience on its own while also building on previous sessions for those attending the full series. Participants must be 18 or older and are encouraged to attend the entire 5-week series to experience the full impact. \nLOCATION\nDonelson Branch Library\n2714 Old Lebanon Pike\nNashville\, TN 37214 \nABOUT LOURIC\nRick Johnson\, professionally known as Louric Oshay\, is a Nashville-based music producer\, educator\, and creative entrepreneur with over a decade of experience blending Hip-Hop culture and music education. A state-licensed Career & Technical Education teacher and two-time Starr Award recipient\, he spent seven years teaching music production at Pearl-Cohn Entertainment Magnet High School and currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Belmont University\, where he teaches Hip-Hop Production Techniques. As a producer\, engineer\, and co-writer\, Oshay has collaborated with artists and producers including Shannon Sanders and Nicole C.
