[Winter Games] BRING SONG IDEAS TO LIFE

January 25, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm CST

You bring the lyrics and hopefully a melody. A music mentor will work with you to figure out the chords, the instrumentation, and the song structure to bring your vision to life. This includes learning how to make beats, writing lyrics, and rapping over beats for those who are interested. Collaboration and co-writing with other teens will be encouraged. In-person sessions are booked in 30 minute increments at the Studio NPL desk or by e-mailing Rebecca.Stone@nashville.gov.
Open to youth ages 13 to 19. This workshop series is a partnership between Southern Word and the Nashville Public Library’s Studio NPL.

Participants can earn points toward the Winter Games through this workshop. The Winter Games will include special sessions to challenge participants’ artistic abilities while allowing them to explore new creative areas of art including poetry, spoken word, fiction writing, singing/songwriting, and audio production. Participants will have a chance to win prizes based on the number of points obtained through workshop activities.
