UnTabled is an opportunity to engage with Southern Word’s unique community in conversation around topics that effect young people, the field of education, and the business community. The evening will bring together Nashville’s established and emerging business leaders, entrepreneurs, executives, and change makers in a virtual setting where they can connect with each other and learn about ways to support Southern Word’s placement of mentors inside classrooms and community organizations.

Diversity, equity, and Inclusion (DEI) remain top of mind for our community, and we plan to make this the centerpiece of this year’s conversation.

Sponsors will have the opportunity to engage attendees in an intimate and creative setting. If you are a Title Sponsor, we will also work with you to ensure that your organization has a special opportunity to share your mission and message with all attendees.

Additionally, due to the interest and enthusiasm of business partners, Southern Word mentors and youth writers have been visiting businesses to engage in writing workshops, poetry performances, and conversation. Among other upsides, this provides a fresh and accessible entry point into DEI workplace conversations that mixes the community building of the workshop space with the engagement of youth voice. Due to their regular participation in these conversations with diverse audiences, Southern Word mentors and youth provide an authentic and open forum for colleagues to learn and share.
