2026 Youth Summer Employment

Creators: Music, Poetry, Song & Story
So often, young artists are asked to give their time, talent, and creativity for exposure. Southern Word believes that creative work adds value to our society in a meaningful way and that young people should be supported and taken seriously as artists. This is why every summer, in partnership with POWER Youth, we create paid opportunities for young people to create and distribute art that positively impacts Nashville. This program invites youth to learn, create, and contribute alongside working artists and mentors while building skills, confidence, and a clearer path forward in both art and life. This opportunity will take place over the course of 7 weeks from June 1 through July 17.
