Accept No Boundary
Don’t limit yourself to a single college community for four years. The Nashville area has 21 four year and post graduate institutions. This gives you the chance to reach beyond the boundaries of one school to connect with student writers from all backgrounds and all places. Southern Word convenes this growing poet community for multiple major events throughout the year. Southern Word has been building this Tennessee writer community for the past five years with area colleges, high schools, and middle schools.
Pushed by Poets
We know that other poets provide the best motivation to develop as writers, performers, and people. As Brave New Voices alumni graduate and attend college, it is clear that they have surpassed most of their peers in their writing and performance capabilities. While other schools may offer a few potential collaborators, Nashville area schools attract a diverse set of multi-disciplinary artists for your projects.
